It's been a busy four months with a few changes, the biggest being my decision to give up Stampin' Up!
You've probably noticed the removal of all things advertising my business off the blog, this doesn't mean you won't see SU on my blog, I still adore the products and will continue to shop with my good friend and demo Debbie Taylor it just means I will be paying full price for my stash. I would still recommend the demo opportunity to anyone who asks my opinion, it's just that I signed up to get my stash at 20% off I never meant to make a business of it and the time spent preparing classes was beginning to become a chore, I felt I was crafting because I had to and not because I wanted to.
I have met some fantastic people through Stampin Up, and made some great new friends both demos and ladies in my classes, but it's time for me to hang up my Stampin' Up! apron.
Now, on to my card. This is using the gorgeous SU background stamp 'Parlour Prints'. I've stamped the background in Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, which I (using an old blusher brush) dusted over with Island Indigo ink then buffed off with some tissue. I got the idea watching that crafting channel when I was off sick for 3 weeks with my bad back, this was the first thing I did as soon as I was able to sit at my craft desk for more than 5 minutes.
I've finished the card with some SU vintage brads and a bit of retired Rich Razzleberry ribbon. That's the thing I like about giving up SU, you are going to start seeing some retired stash that had been consigned to a box at the back of the cupboard as there wasn't much point demoing something I couldn't sell any more.
More for you on Tuesday... along with a little bit more news.
Happy Crafting
Beautiful card Helen. Good to have you back crafting for fun! I love that stamp too.. It would go wonderfully with my forever young stamp set I can't get enough of at the moment!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing Tuesdays blog!
About bloomin' time as well! :-) Much as I loved that card from your last blog, I have been waiting for a new one to come along. I love what you've done to the blog background too - that's gorgeous.
